developed to help visualize the damage of Kisumu town. Note

Post
Election Violence Map-2007. This is a Map
of Kenya, showing towns/areas that were highly affected
by the post election violence in kenya from 30th December
2007 after the highly disputed general election. Click HERE

BURA.
This is a conflic Map of Bura Division in Tana River District,
North of Coast province,Kenya.More than 7 people were killed
and 300 houses burned in what was believed to be a war between
two major pastoral communities, the Wardei and the Orma
in Tana River District, Coast Province. Click HERE

BUDALANGI.
This is one region in Western Province of Kenya where there
are frequent annual floods, with many people being displaced.
In the last incident, more than 4,280 people,(about 712
families) were displaced after River Nzoia bursts its banks
at Swalanga and the dykes collapsed. This was attributed
to the continued heavy rain at the Chaptagat forest and
the Cherengani Hills.Click HERE

BIRD
FLU. This is an alert sensitivity map depicting
bird flu movement from one region to another along the borders
of Uganda, Sudan and Kenya. Click HERE

PROTECTED
AREAS. This map was developed for AEO-EIS,
which is a section within UNEP that works towards improving
access to harmonized national, sub-regional and regional
statistics and geospatial datasets to support environmental

OCHA
HUMANITARIAN MAP. Between May and June 2007,
there was escalation of violence in many parts of the country,
the most alarming being the killings of Matatu bus operators
and other private citizens allegedly being carried out by
the Mungiki sect. Cattle raids and ethnic-related violence
were also noted with over 30 lives being lost due to cattle
raiding and a further 5 deaths and numerous injuries coming
as a result of separate incidents of ethnic violence in
Bura Division (Tana River District) and Kuresoi in Molo.
